Hi all,

Thought I'd throw a proper rumour on here that, from my source, is apparently nailed on.

A friend of mine's wife works at a catering company, where the head chef there has a second job as Joe Harts personal chef. He has apparently just handed in his notice and said that he is moving to Spain for a year, to continue his duties for Joe whilst he is on a year long loan at Barcelona.

I can't personally validate it of course, but my source was 100% positive of this.

No idea if there are any whispers from the Eds on to Joe's next club?

{Ed002's Note - Firstly Manchester City are not looking for a loan - the preference is to sell him on. Right now the first thing to happen is to see how Manchester City feel about a creative offer from Sevilla. If they are open to it then the player will have the option to decide if he wants a move to Spain. Next up, Everton might be interested and if a deal could be agreed between the clubs, then again the player will need to think about the option. Else, his agent needs to get some work done.

Barcelona are going to sign Jasper Cillessen to replace Bravo - although interestingly they had another plan if it were ter Stegen to leave.

Little of this should be a suprise.}

Hi Ed002,

I thought they got it confused with Sevilla but they said Barcelona when I asked again, along with saying it was off now anyway. Wether it was actually ever a realistic option is debatable in itself.

Would there be any more information on what this creative offer would be? I personally think he would opt Everton providing the new owners could sell him on their ambitions of achieving Champions League football.

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona have never been an option. The detail of the offer from Sevilla is really of no relevance.}

Hi Ed,

Any chance you could explain the Rulli situation? Does seem to be a strange transfer dealing, are we essentially selling him with a buy back option?

{Ed002's Note - It is unusual and something that the football authorities would like to end. It is embroiled in an investment company called the Stellar Group who financially control Deportivo Maldonado, a Uruguayan side with no real facilities and a small fan base. They legally hold (or have held) the rights to a number of players who are high profile (Jonathan Calleri, Alex Sandro and Pablo Osvaldo all come to mind) and were "purchased" and then sold on at a significant profit to the London-based investment company and the agent who deals with most of these players, Gustavo Arribas, who is also the Director General of the Argentinian Intelligence agency. Manchester City would like to purchase Rulli outright but only 70% of his rights are for sale and he cannot therefore play in England. To overcome this, Manchester City have sold their portion of his ownership and Deportivo Maldonado have sold part of their portion of his ownership (in reality Stellar's and Arribas' portion) to Real Sociedad and then agreed to sell the remaining 30% over a three year period to Real Sociedad to overcome Spanish rules regarding part ownership. Manchester City for their part in facilitating this has and agreement that they can buy the goalkeeper for something like €15m once he is fully owned by Real Sociedad (or for a cost of €15M plus a negoiated fee for the remaining rights). As with any buy back clause, they would need to any higher offer made by another side in the future. Rulli would not be eligible for a UK work permit but I understand that he will seek a European passport. That would be seen by the UK as a passport of convenience and would not help him. The player knew that if he moved to Manchester City he would have to be loaned out and eventually probably sold. Like Calleri, none of this is illegal but perhaps it should be - it is well beyond the third party ownership that is rife in South America. Deportivo Maldonado is a effectively a shell for Stellar and Arribas to exploit Uruguayan tax laws.}

Now that Man City have spent a significant sum strengthening the team, are they still inclined to sell players to meet FFP or is the new premier league money giving them the strength to build a large squad.

with John stones yet to join.

I remember reading that yaya toure was surplus is that still the case?

has there been any interest in the likes of Bony?

also Ed did state that silva may be made available for transfer is that no longer the case?

appreciate any info you could share, have a brilliant day eds.

{Ed001's Note - Yaya is available for transfer, no takers yet.

Bony has had interest from Swansea, but is not keen on a return. A couple of Turkish clubs, but he is not keen on there either. Boro, Palace and Everton remain interested.

Silva is available, but only for the right price. He is not being pushed out of the door, but he has already been replaced ready.}

I would assume Sane is Silva replacement.

i remember reading about FFP for City awhile back is that not the case? do they no longer need to sell players considering they are still to buy another player for quite a significant sum.

surely they will perhaps need to force some out? i have no idea how that would even work.

{Ed001's Note - Gundogan actually. They would like to offload a few, but FFP rules are more relaxed now, so it is not as desperate as it was.}

Just a passing comment as an Evertonian but I feel PEP already has Mourinho rocked.
Mourhino refuses to train and talk to press due to stadium heat and now cancels friendly against you lot due to pitch, strange how city say it's not that bad. Maybe what happened at chelsea and the Dortmund result already has him hearing voices and weaving baskets. 😀.

It's pointless coming on this page as it's as empty as the emptyhad! You will get bites on the united page mate.

21 Jul 2016 13:49:15
Afternoon eds! I'm a butcher and had a big Man city fan in today (I'm a Liverpool fan and use their site quite abit) anyway, he was saying that they could be making a move for Geoffrey Kondogbia as his brother plays in your youth set up. This true?

{Ed002's Note - No.}

Seen a few reports of Rulli fee being agreed for 4m, although unclear of the loan back term that is being stated, between 1-2 years before joining.

Definitely a good piece of business especially at only 4m but if the reason for a keeper was to challenge Joe then the loan back doesn't hold up against that. Unless not an immediate challenge?

Sane to sign within days, Stones not far behind. Personal terms agreed with both, fees for them still to be sorted.

Kroos to city will happen.

Agree0 Disagree3

08 Jul 2016 09:11:14
I could see a merry go round happening, Madrid will need to sell if they want Pogba, Kroos being the one to move on to make up the deficit, a touted 63m in stories I've seen.

Would be nice seeing gundogan and kroos controlling the game for us, the bonus being united don't get Pogba too! Just have to see how it plays out after the final.

Mourinho is definetly doing his recruitment right at the moment though and if he does end up at United they're going to up there next season.

Can't wait for next season!

Thought I'd try again, although I seem to be only only one posting on the city page right now!

Any chance of the potential outs? I hope the stories of Mangala back to Porto aren't true, if Pep can help him improve his game tactically he could still be great for us.

{Ed001's Note - I know Citeh are trying to add a left back and a right back, which suggests that one of Clichy/Kolarov and Sagna/Zabaleta will be leaving, when the replacement arrives. The obvious one is Toure, he is not wanted, Fernandinho is also surplus, so I am told. I did double check he wasn't getting mixed up with Fernando when he told me that (I do get the pair mixed up a lot myself) but I was told it was definitely Fernandinho that was wanted out and City are trying to move on.

Though he also believes that City would welcome a decent offer for Fernando as well, and plan on replacing both them, Delph, Nasri, Navas and Bony over the next couple of windows. Also, which surprises me, there is a belief that Silva is available for transfer.}

Cheers Ed, Fernandinho and Silva are surprising as they are both certainly good enough in my opinion, only thing I can think is that age is counting against them to try and have some resale value?

Thinking about the RB/LB positions going off the earlier post by Ed002 it doesn't look like we had any primary targets in those positions, is there anyone specific we would be looking at ready for first team football? Seen stories of both Zabaleta and Kolarov having interest so imagine they would be the two to go.

{Ed001's Note - I only got told they asked for stats packs for fullbacks who had stood out statistically to analysts.}

06 Jul 2016 09:56:53
Maybe we will start playing 3 at the back bringing in a new CB. Use Denayer as a utility player to play a Rb when 4 at the back . Maybe we look for a lwb someone like Rodriguez from wolfsburg and play sterling as rwb , and have options with Denayer and Sagna as RB alternatives and clichy and Rodriguez on the left.

What you think TheManOfMeat ?

06 Jul 2016 10:49:47
There is absolutely no chance Fernandinho is being sold, he was our best player last year and midfield is the weakest area at the moment.

{Ed001's Note - I would have said the same but I am told Pep does not want him. He wants to take the club in a different direction apparently. He is not seen as being good enough on the ball for the long term.}

06 Jul 2016 11:07:30
3 at the back could be a possibility, with Kompany, otamendi, Mangala, Denayer plus the options of stones/another CB if they are brought in we would be pretty stacked, 3 would give more opportunity for rotation.

Also literally as I was writing this just seen we had a 38m bid for Bonucci rejected so if we go back in for him and pull him off we are definetly stacked!

06 Jul 2016 15:00:51
Well at least that's 3 Manchester city supporters. No wonder I see so many empty seats at the etihad.

30 Jun 2016 19:03:45
Hi Ed,

Any chance there is an update on the outs? Been reading reports on Zabaleta to Roma for 2.5m, deserves the transfer such a loyal servant for us.

{Ed002's Note - Try early next week when I might have some time.}

03 Jul 2016 10:45:20
Thanks Ed,

Just a note, both Richard Wright and Demichelis have been released, imagine some of the youth players are to take their slots in the squad, possibly Angus Gunn and Denayer, unless the rumours of a new keeper come to fruition.

I wasn't sure whether to ask on here or the Barcelona page but do you have any info on Gabriel Jesus? Looks like he's off to Barcelona but do you think City could make a deal?

Hi Ed 2

I hope things are well.

Please could you give us an updated list of potential ins and out at city?

This will be greatly appreciative.

Hi Ed,

Wondering if you would be so kind as to give an overview of City's current transfer activity. please I.e. who they are after, how likely the deals are etc.

I know they've just signed Gundogan but am interested in what else they are looking to do ?

{Ed002's Note - Tom - The primary targets are Gundogan, Laporte, Aubameyang, Pogba, Sane, Kroos, Coric, Ederson and Oleksandr Zinchenko.

Wildcards: John Stones, James Rodriguez and Alex Sandro.

Wildcard: If the right money were offered to the club, then Barcelona would be open to selling Messi - and if the package were good enough, the player would consider any offers. The difficulties include his tax issues and the vast amounts of money involved.

There is interest in Koke, Thiago Alcantara, Weigl, West Ham's Reece Oxford, Rico Henry, Lemar, Marquinhos, Amadou Diawara and Mo Dahoud but none are seen as any sort of priority but they could turn to them if others cannot be recruited.

There may be residual interest in Cresswell, Barkley and Bellarabi.

Riechedly Bazoer has been watched more than once and of interest but like Ilicic, Guerreiro, Upamecano, Nagatomo, Calhanoglu, Mbappe, Maksimovic, Nainggolan, Gabriel Jesus, Zivkovic, Matuidi, Cancelo, ter Stegen, Neves, Semedo, Pjanic, Kolasinac, Salazar, Depoitre, Muller, Suarez, Tore, Bailly, Hazard, Isco, Andre Gomes, Paul Georges Ntep, Moussa Dembele, Pulisic, Rusnak, Cheikh N’Doye, Granit Xhaka, Ousmane Dembele, Boufal and Bonnuci nothing will or nothing is likely to happen.}

Christ, City are going to be some force next year if they pull off even a few of their primary targets

Ed you're a champ. thanks for the update.

07 Jun 2016 22:14:05

Aguero - KDB - Aubemayang

There is a genuine possibility we might see these three together at Manchester City next season.

Pace, Power, Technique and goals in abundance.

Would this be the best trio in the league?

A lot of the talk consists around Centre backs and midfielders - but I haven't seen a huge amount of talk around out fullbacks recently. Clichy and Sagna can still do a good job but we definetly need an injection of youth.

I can see both Kolarov and Zabaleta leaving us - Kolarov never really cut it for me, whereas i'll be sad to see Zabaleta go. (I hope Zabaleta gets the transfer he deserves for his fine service over the years. )

Any news on what potential full backs we are looking at?

Cheers in advance.
