Hey eds, is there any truth in foden maybe going to dortmund?

{Ed002's Note - Foden is one of a number of young players based in England that Dortmund has an interest in. Juventus also have an interest.}

Hi Eds, there were rumours before the summer that David Silva might end up in Spain in the summer, is there any reason why this didn't happen?

In a way I'm glad it didn't happen because it's great to have such a player in the league but in another way I'm gutted because he plays for City and he makes them tick! finding an adequate replacement for him wouldn't be easy but surely this time next year he'll be somewhere in Spain? because it seemed like that's where he wanted to go.

{Ed002's Note - The plan is that David Silva will move to Las Palmas in 2019 (if the club release him and have a replacement) or in 2020 (when his contract expires). There is a chance he might be open to moving to Girona (who are also owned by City Football Group) next season.}

Interesting, thanks very much for that Ed2. Hope you are well mate.

{Ed002's Note - I am thanks.}

22 Sep 2018 01:50:05
Ed002, will City buy anyone to replace David Silva? Or will they use Bernardo Silva in midfield and buy another winger?

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City will continue to buy players for David Silva and anyone else who leaves to ensure that they remain competitive.}

22 Sep 2018 18:46:52
Thanks Ed.

Eds, is there any credibility in the Sterling to Real Madrid story?

And if it's true, will this have any consequences in future deals for Neymar/ Mbappe/ Hazard?

{Ed002's Note - I don't see in Sterling moving to Real Madrid before the week is out.}

Sky Sports reported that this one is being planned for January/ next summer.

{Ed002's Note - Jolly good - the first done deal then.}

29 Aug 2018 13:45:02

Cheers Ed002.

Have a nice day!

29 Aug 2018 10:55:15
Hi eds,

Do you have any thoughts on where Yaya Toure is moving and how well you see him doing?

It’s london but not West Ham or Palace apparently, I’d be very surprised if it’s a top side like Chelsea, Arsenal or Spurs and this doesn’t leave many sides left!

He’s 35 and his game has dropped off significantly, a monster in his prime but I don’t see him starting for many teams in the premier league anymore.

{Ed002's Note - I have no thoughts about Yaya Toure at all. Olympiakos are keen but unattractive. Marseille of course is where he wants to go but at the weekend Kevin Strootman resolved that problem for them.}

29 Aug 2018 14:19:13
Cheers ed, I suspect a large part of these rumours are just his agent trying to stir up some interest.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of the rumours RVD.}

29 Aug 2018 14:29:54
Oh right no worries. His agent has posted on Twitter that he has completed a medical in London and is close to joining a new club. I saw it on sky sports this morning. He also said that it isn’t West Ham or Palace.

{Ed002's Note - You should ask his agent on Twitter then. I can't help with that.}

29 Aug 2018 15:19:53
Not a problem ed, like I said I suspect he’s trying to draw some eyes and potentially attract interest in Toure.

{Ed002's Note - I can't see sudden interest from elsewhere, the only interested side I am aware of remains Olympiakos.}

29 Aug 2018 15:31:37
Ok thanks a lot for your help ed.

23 Jul 2018 13:13:43
Eds what's the story with sterling, is citys reason for putting him up for sale the contract situation? Also who could be in for him?

{Ed001's Note - the reason his contract is running down is because Pep does not think he is good enough and has been wanting to sell him since he arrived. Who is we?}

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2018 09:12:41
We? I don't know?

{Ed001's Note - sorry mate, I am full of cold and misread your question. My apologies. There is not a lot of interest, purely because of the wages he commands.}

21 Jul 2018 11:03:03
Hi Ed's,

Any ideas on the potential outs this window? I imagine there should be a fair amount of movement, maybe permanent deals for the perennial loanees such as Mangala, Denayer, Roberts and Joe.

{Ed002's Note - See elsewhere.}

20 Jul 2018 17:17:28
Hello ed002,

Can we have a little bit of update on man city transfer for the remaining transfer window?

It seems a little bit quiet here.

{Ed002's Note - To the best of my knowledge it is something like this:

Philippe Sander (CB) - a cheap but very promising centre back option - but the club was caned over agent fees
Riyad Mahrez (RW) – completed – frees up a player to leave

Potential interest remains in:

(GK) – we will have to see
Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - provides leadership but age is against him
Toby Alderweireld (CB) - but may need to fend off an offer of a new deal from Spurs, Manchester United and Real Madrid - unlikely
Julian Weigl (DM) – Jorginho option, injured right now
Mario Lemina (DM) – Jorginho option
Miralem Pjanic (CM) – very expensive and interest from elsewhere so very unlikely right now

Interest gone, not for sale or moved elsewhere:

Berke Ozer (GK) - will move to Fenerbahce for the chance of first team football
Matthijs de Ligt (CB) – not going to happen
Eder Militao (RB/CB) - Manchester City know they would need to pay well over the odds if he was to move to England in order to get a work permit - but may do so to block a move to Lazio or Juventus - Chelsea and Porto are options
Sergio Busquets (DM) - over ambitious bid will go nowhere
Jorginho (DM) – gone to Chelsea
Fred (CM) - gone to Manchester United
Jean Michael Seri (CM) – gone elsewhere
Thiago Alcantara (CM) – interest gone
Douglas Costa (RW) – interest gone as Juve look to profiteer
Leon Bailey (LW) – has turned down a move elsewhere and will likely stay where he is this summer
Thomas Lemar (LW) – gone elsewhere
Rafael Leao (F) – will move to Borussia Dortmund
Paulo Dybala (LW/F) – supposedly not available but an offer from elsewhere may still arrive – I don’t see him moving as it stands right now

Cengiz Under (RW/AM) - one for the future but there is interest if he becomes available
Kylian Mbappe (W/F) - considered initially as an alternative to Mahrez but Manchester City are now looking at him playing in a more fluid role and a little something has now happened that could see a very significant offer made if he became available. However, it would be far from a surprise with Neymar looking to stay another season to see Real Madrid look to Mbappe this summer in addition to Hazard. And there is a better than good chance that they may be joined by Manchester City in making an offer if the club can make the necessary financial provisions - and making Sterling available and taking a loan against next season's earnings could be a big step in that direction.

Angus Gunn (GK) - gone to Southampton
Pablo Maffeo (RB) - gone to Stuttgart
Angelino (LB) - gone to PSV
Yaya Toure (CB) - released
Olarenwaju Kayode (S) - left for Shakhtar
Javairo Dilrosun (LW/F) - Gone to Herta
A few players have gone on loan

Players who will be sold or are at least available:

Joe Hart (GK)
Jason Denayer (CB)
Fernandinho (DM)
Oleksandr Zinchenko (CM)
Brahim Diaz (AM)
Patrick Roberts (RW)
Raheem Sterling (RW/LW)

Thoughts are also turning to the futures of Vincent Kompany (CB), David Silva (AM)
and Sergio Aguero (S)

Well I thought that mbappe is set to stay for one more season at psg before moving. so there is slight chance he will move this summer then

Thanks for the reply ed. brilliant as always.

19 Jul 2018 10:14:00
Ed002 any clue who City's Jorginho alternative is?
Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuu.

{Ed002's Note - As Jorginho and Sergio Busquets are not available it will be Julian Weigl (if he can prove his fitness before the EPL window closes) or Mario Lemina.}

'Ronaldo (the real one) ' hahaha I love it! it's right though, I bloody loved Ronaldo, what a player!

Great list there, wow some of them players though, just the best of the best. I really miss some of these players, it's just not the same today imo.

{Ed001's Note - you sound like me grandad....}

03 Jul 2018 16:40:48
I know Ed mate I sound like mine too, bloody hell! lol.

{Ed001's Note - you are probably about the same age as mine though....}

03 Jul 2018 20:09:05
Hahaha you bugger lol I'll start looking like a fossil next mate put it that way! I bloody feel like one these days lol.

{Ed001's Note - start?}

10 Jul 2018 17:11:41
Don't think ya list is long enough ed. May have to add a few more to it. Haha.

{Ed001's Note - there are already a few more since this went up:
Paolo Montero - kpm100
Michel Preud'Homme - jonipt
Renat Dessaev - BRover
Bert Trautmann - MK Scouser
Sergio Goycochea - GOULDY77
ivan de la pena - bakedbeanboy
George Weah - stg
Gabriel Batistuta - red deano

12 Jul 2018 13:44:09
Glad that Marquez is in the list. One of my favourite players. He looks like a really likeable kind of guy too.

{Ed001's Note - still playing though, was in the World Cup.}

12 Jul 2018 14:10:34
Yeah watched him in one of them. He was in midfield instead in that game. Really liked him when he was in Spain playing with that dude with a mop hair. I totally forgot the name.

{Ed001's Note - Carles Puyol. He has often played midfield throughout his career.}

19 Jul 2018 10:11:32
Nice one Ed001, I was going to request Liam Brady.
How about Johnny Giles?

{Ed001's Note - added him to the list for you mate.}

31 May 2018 12:52:30
Any news on potential signings?

{Ed002's Note - The club are in discussions regarding Mahrez and Jorginho.}

Helll Ed02
Apart from this two, Are city looking to bring in more players? Do you expect them to add a few more?

{Ed002's Note - Yes, a CB and another midfield player.}

07 Jun 2018 08:25:21
Sorry for the late response Ed. Thanks for the info. Could you tell me which are the players city are looking to sign?

{Ed002's Note - Leonardo Bonucci (CB) - provides leadership but age is against him - won't happen
Toby Alderweireld (CB) - but may need to fend off an offer of a new deal from Spurs, Manchester United and Real Madrid - very unlikely
Matthijs de Ligt (CB) - would need convincing he would get game time - but they will try
Eder Militao (RB/CB) - Manchester City know they would need to pay well over the odds if he was to move to England in order to get a work permit - but may do so to block a move to Lazio or Juventus - another English side and Porto are options for him.
Fred (CM) - won't happen - signed for Manchester United
Jean Michael Seri (CM) - won't happen - tentative agreement with another side
Miralem Pjanic (CM) - offer rejected and asking price well beyond what interested sides expected
Thiago Alcantara (CM) - unlikely as there is serious interest from elsewhere.}

07 Jun 2018 10:00:48
Thanks for the details mate! It looks like none of the midfield players are happening due one or the other reason. Are they looking for some wild card entries mate?
My gues is Toby will either head to Real or UTD as a part of player and cash swap.
Cheers mate.

{Ed002's Note - They will try again for Pjanic.}

07 Jun 2018 11:11:52
Thanks again Ed02. Somewhere in Real page you said They would like to bring Pjanic to replace Modric.
On the city front Pjanic and Jorginho are similar players mate, infact very similar. How would that shape up there.
Would love to hear from you on this? Or does it mean they won’t cough up for Jorginho?

{Ed002's Note - I am not interested in comp[aring players and yes RM are interested.}

07 Jun 2018 11:38:45
No problem Ed02. Thanks for the info ☺️.

17 Apr 2018 16:01:18
Hi Ed,
With links today regarding Mbappe and Thiago, if you have time, can we have a little run down of who City are interested in and who could be making way?
Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Needs an update but something like:
Toby Alderweireld (CB) - but may need to fend off an offer of a new deal from Spurs, Manchester United and Real Madrid
Militao (RB) - Manchester City know they would need to pay well over the odds if he was to move to England in order to get a work permit - but may do so to block a move to Juventus
Julian Weigl (DM)
Jorginho (M)
Fred (CM)
Jean Michael Seri (CM) - looking less likely as someone else in talks
Thiago Alcantara (CM)
Riyad Mahrez (RW)
Paulo Dybala (LW/F)
Thomas Lemar (LW)

Yaya Toure
David Silva

17 Apr 2018 16:38:51

Shocked they’d let Silva go. A return to Spain for him you think?

{Ed002's Note - At his age he needs to be playing.{

06 Apr 2018 21:16:37

Now a good time?

{Ed002's Note - thanks for the prompt, but I will beg another week whilst I have been moving house.

No worries.

16 Apr 2018 08:16:02
Not just a Utd fan here guys, But a football fan also. Your football this season has been a joy to watch. Well done for winning the hardest league in the world this season. hopefully it's more of a competition for us below you next year.

24 Feb 2018 08:45:21
Good on Pep for wearing the ribbon. Hard not to like him even when you're not a Manchester City fan!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Feb 2018 16:59:13

{Ed002's Note - I cannot tell you what is likely but there is the possibility he will leave.}

08 Feb 2018 17:20:56

Are they looking to buy another striker (s) and are any teams interested in him?

{Ed002's Note - Atletico may look to taking him back.}

30 Jan 2018 23:26:13
Any truth in Citys interest in Mahrez?

{Ed002's Note - (a) Yes. (b) Mahrez handed in the Transfer Request prior to interest hoping for a move to London. (c) City approached Leicester with an offer and were told to double it and they will listen.}

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2018 22:49:57

Can we please have the latest on Alexis Sanchez?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - In simple term, MU are keen and want to include a player in the deal. MC want to wait until summer when there will be a squad place and wage space available. The wages will be enough to take any other interested parties out of the equation. MC can offer more concern of success at this time}

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jan 2018 23:25:50
Do you think the player would consider Manchester United seeing as though he wants to go to Manchester City?

{Ed002's Note - I can only speculate - perhaps he would.}

02 Jan 2018 15:59:47
Hope your well

Any latest news on who the club will buy this month

Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - It is really difficult for me to answer questions about the timing of transfers. It would not however be a surprise to see Southampton approached for Ryan Bertrand. An alternalte LB solution might be Philipp Max.

In midfield the club are keen on both Frenkie de Jong (M) and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (M) but there is a lot of interest in Milinkovic-Savic from elsewhere and a move to City in January is unlikely. de Jong has signed a new deal but both player and club know the interest will stay. Maybe one for 2019.

After that, the long list of CB targets remains with van Dijk removed and Untiti added - wildcard could be de Vrij or Milan Skriniar.}

25 Dec 2017 20:02:42
Happy Christmas

Are the club looking to buy Jonny Evans this January?

{Ed002's Note - The club has a lengthy list of centre backs they are interested in. He might be at the bottom.}

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Dec 2017 23:52:17

Can you please provide an update regarding January transfers? Do you think Alexis Sanchez will come in January?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - It is difficult to say with any accuracy when transfers will actually happen. MC are one of a number of sides interested in Alexis Sanchez. The club has a lengthy list of centre backs they have shown an interest in:
Mouctar Diakhaby (CB)
Inigo Martinez (CB)
Clement Lenglet (CB)
Jose Gimenez (CB)
Virgil van Dijk (CB)
Raphael Varane (CB)
Andreas Christensen (CB)
Toby Alderweireld (CB)

They also desire left back cover and would like Ryan Bertrand but he may not wish to be a long-term bench warmer.

Interest remains in Sergi Roberto (RWB) but I think it unlikely.

In midfield the club are keen on both Frenkie de Jong (M) and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (M) but there is a lot of interest in Milinkovic-Savic from elsewhere.

It is unlikely that Marco Asensio (LW) will move to Manchester City and I think interest may have gone.

And for Alexis Sanchez, yes the club is keen.}

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Dec 2017 16:01:28

Will the club try to get Sanchez in January or wait till the summer?

Many thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Sanchez is able to talk with other clubs in January - but not Manchester City. This could force their hand. But as I said, I cannot say when things will actually happen.}

16 Oct 2017 12:28:03
United Fan Here, At the rate city are scoring goals there is a general consensus being formed that since they have gelled, they are next to impossible to beat.
Just wanted to ask the opinion of the various editors on whether this city team are as good as the media are proclaiming them to be. Or have they got weaknesses that a more organized team can easily exploit. A simple review would be awesome, because this is something fans from all major clubs are thinking of right now. Cheers!

{Ed002's Note - They are just doing well. Manchester United are doing well at the same time. I would have them as likely winners of the Premier League this year.}
